About MONA

Launched in 2023, MONA promotes sustainable tourism in the protected areas of north-western Europe, benefiting the environment, visitors and local economies. With a focus on modal shift and sustainable transport, MONA aims to ensure a positive visitor experience while preserving the natural environment.

Key activities include rigorous assessment of visitor impacts and testing of different strategies to promote sustainable practices. The project brings together nature reserves and partners in Germany, France, Belgium and the Netherlands and will run until 2027.
