The MONA project is hosting its fifth webinar on 16 April 2026, exploring how tourism and transport sectors can work together to create more sustainable and accessible travel experiences in nature areas.
As visitor numbers grow, so does pressure on ecosystems and local communities. The tourism industry needs to reduce emissions and shift towards sustainable transport—rail, coaches, cycling and walking—but this requires collaboration between sectors that have traditionally worked separately.
This webinar brings together experts from tourism, mobility and policy to share destination management models, governance approaches and practical strategies that demonstrate what cross-sector collaboration can achieve.
Speakers include Cristina Núñez (NECSTouR), Ioannis Anastasakis (Region of Crete) and Froukje Bekius (Nationaal Park Utrechtse Heuvelrug) and Cristina Pou i Fonollà (Generalitat de Catalunya).
